i wonder why shin wears 'pick-rings' (to pick the koto strings) only on his right hand fingers...?
does it mean that koto is a one hand-needed instrument..?

As far as I've observed some koto players you can use one hand or both hands..
I think you have to use fingerpicks on your right hand. If you want to add some vibrato to a note, you push carefully with your left hand on the string behind the bridges*. I think you're also able to make a little glisando that way.

* note: I don't know if those white bricks on the koto are officially called bridges, it could be dragons too.. I'm not sure..

Agree with Niensama.

You can play it with both hands. I saw Shin play it with both, or only one hand.
And....yes, Niensama already explained the rest XD
